Why Join ASME?
Joining ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) is more than just joining another club. In ASME, we do more than talk about engineering: we show you engineering!  Tours, guest speakers, and competitions are just a part of the benefits you receive by becoming a National Member.

Our General Body Meetings keep the student body informed of what’s to come in the upcoming months, and even hosts small mini-contests where small groups are formed to complete a task. We welcome you to our meetings with food and refreshments, and usually a guest speaker.

Social Events are held occasionally to remind the student body that we need a break from the coursework every now and then. Monthly birthday celebrations are held to observe the birthdays of that month. At the end of the semester, a Senior Sendoff is held to bid graduating seniors adieu at a local restaurant.

Joining ASME also allows you to list a prestige group on your resumes when it comes down to starting your career. Most employers recognize who ASME is, and will put emphasis on those who took the time out of their lives to improve the lives of others…
