Spotlight on UF’s chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). The student group has been rather active in the last few months, hosting and attending a variety of community outreach events, as well as organizing tours with major engineering companies.

Gator Motorsports attends Art in Engineering Musuem Night at the Harn Musuem of Art

Gator Motorsports recently attended the Art in Engineering  Musuem Night at the Harn Musuem of Art. The museum presented works of art and performances by UF College of Engineering faculty and students. They displayed their 2016 Formula-style race car, which placed 9th out of over 120 teams at competition last May.

Pi Tau Sigma organizes engineering outreach event for local K-12 students

This past Saturday, October 22nd, UF’s chapter of Pi Tau Sigma organized an engineering outreach event for local K-12 students. Members of the International Mechanical Engineering Honor Society volunteered in the GatorTrax event, in order to provide local students with an opportunity to learn mathematics, physics, and engineering concepts through hands-on activities.

Dr. Steven A. E. Miller joins UF MAE

Dr. Steven A. E. Miller recently joined the University of Florida (UF), Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE). Before joining UF MAE, he spent seven years as a United States civil servant and was appointed to the position of theoretical aeroacoustician (research aerospace engineer) at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
