MAE Fixes the Swamp

MAE students have redesigned and built critical parts for seating in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium for the Athletic Association. Permanently-installed seat backs are available for season ticket holders, but corrosion has been damaging the brackets. Replacement parts are no longer available, so the Athletic Association turned to MAE for a solution. MAE graduate student Aaron Wall and his colleagues were able to reverse engineer the original parts, improve their design, and manufacture them in their laboratory. The seat backs can now last longer, providing spectators a safe and comfortable place to sit while cheering the Gators on!
