Students from John Schueller's EML 4930 Automotive Engineering class are now studying the "Automotive Electrical/Electronics" module.
This past Wednesday, they had presentations from UF graduate students who described how teams of UF undergraduate and graduate students engineered competition-winning vehicles. The presentations concentrated on the electrical, electronic, and computer systems to reinforce the concepts learned in the classroom.
MAE Graduate Student John Esposito describes details of the systems on the Center for Intelligent Machines and Robotics' Urban Navigator autonomous SUV which was selected for participation in the DARPA Urban Challenge. John further developed the car's capabilities in his master's research.
