University of Florida Partners in New Manufacturing USA Institute
Awarded in December 2016, the University of Florida has been named as the Southeastern node in biofabrication for the Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI). As a partner in ARMI, a public-private effort to improve advanced manufacturing in the United States, researchers at the University of Florida will be exploring questions in 3D bio-systems, organ-life support systems, and implantable living tissues. Dr. W. Gregory Sawyer, who holds the Newton C. Ebaugh Professorship in Mechancial Engineering, will be directing efforts on campus and working with industry partners affiliated with ARMI.
