WHO WE ARE
We are Gatorloop, a design team at UF whose focus is to develop the technology necessary for the Hyperloop mass transportation system. If you are unfamiliar with Hyperloop, it is a new form of mass transportation that has been proposed by Elon Musk, the founder of revolutionary companies such as SpaceX and Tesla. In 2015, Elon Musk announced a competition hosted by SpaceX in which universities from around the world design and build Hyperloop pod prototypes. After several rounds of elimination and design reviews, Gatorloop was selected to be one of 29 teams from an original 1,200 to compete in the final round of the first competition. After months of designing and manufacturing our Hyperloop pod, we competed in the final round and performed extremely well.
