2018 AlphaLab Gear Hardware Cup

The Hardware Cup is a pitch competition for early-stage hardware startups. We're touring 6 cities around the US to find and highlight the most promising physical product startups in the nation. Winners in each city will receive $3k cash and other prizes, as well as a chance to win a $50,000 convertible-debt investment from Startbot VC at the International Finals in April, alongside finalists from 5 other countries.

Any startup with a physical product component can apply: manufactured products, IoT/connected devices, health/medical, consumer products, consumer electronics, food, fashion, robotics, etc.

Many colleges and universities have committed their student hardware startups to apply, including the University Of Michigan, UVA, Virginia Tech, and Harvard.  Since you have the top one of the top Engineering colleges in the region, I wanted to make sure your students also had the opportunity to be involved.

Applications are now open, and will close on February 20, about two weeks before the South Regional to be held in Austin on March 6. You can find more info and a link to apply at http://alphalabgear.org/hardwarecup/

I would greatly appreciate it if you would share this info with your network, and specifically with any promising hardware startups you may know! I also have an e-flyer if that is easier for you to share.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

All the best,

Kayce Dewey
