Scope of this Security Plan

This document establishes high-level policies and procedures intended to insure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the Department's Local Area Networks within the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering; IT devices controlled by the Department; and information stored or manipulated by those networks and devices.

Policies and Procedures intended to implement the Security Plan are described in this Security Plan.  This security plan has been developed within the guidelines and policies set forth by the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, the College of Engineering Security Plan and the University of Florida Security Plan

All people within the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering must comply with the requirements of this policy, as well as any other documents that may be published by the Department to facilitate implementation of this policy and the integrity of the Department IT infrastructure.

David Rockey has been designated as Department IT Security Manager by the Department Chairman.  All IT security issues should be directed to  security@mae.ufl.edu.   In cases where the Dept IT is not available, the security related issues will be forward automatically to the entire Computer Support Team.

Members of the Computer Support Team will be assigned to resolve security issues based on the knowledge, experience and availability of the individual at the sole discretion of the Department IT Security Manager.
