Please be careful when printing transparencies on a laser printer, an ink jet printer or a Xerox machine. Before you insert any transparency into any of these devices, make sure that the type of transparency that you are using is designed for that purpose. Since transparencies are made of a plastic and printers and Xerox machines use 300+ degrees of heat during the printing process, using the wrong type of transparency can ruin a printer or Xerox machine very quickly from melting plastic. To give you an example of the cost, 1 transparency caused about $450 worth of damage (fuser and drum units) to the color laser printer in MAE-A 231. Please be careful so that we can avoid any avoidable damage. |
